Lucy’s Hometown Hunt was created by Crystal H. Mayo, a local children’s author and long-time children’s ministry leader with a heart for storytelling and family fun. Crystal has spent over a decade inspiring young minds in Southwest Louisiana, and her second book Lucy’s Lake Charles Adventure grew out of a school program she developed alongside the creative students of T.S. Cooley Elementary.
This summer, Crystal wanted to bring Lucy’s energy beyond the pages and into the streets of Lake Charles. That’s how the Hometown Hunt was born—an interactive, joy-filled adventure designed to help families explore our city, make memories, and celebrate the people and places that make
Lake Charles special.
With the help of amazing community partners, each location on the hunt ties into Lucy’s journey and offers a unique challenge for your family. So grab your clues, snap some photos, and come be part of something fun, faith-filled, and local! We can’t wait to see your family out and about on the hunt for Lucy.
